Walking in My Shoes

So last night Jack's cries also woke daddy up. We are still working on the regularity of pooping and so my little man was in pain. Kevin stayed up to help me with him each time he was up but then went to sleep early in the AM and slept in while Jack was up at 7:30. I really did appreciate the help and if anything it helped him to understand what it is like to deal with life after being up so many times during the night. Tonight he fought falling asleep for about 1/2 hour and is finally down.

Today was the beginning of our new adventure with him. At the last dr.'s visit our dr. decided to refer us to a ped. cardiology clinic because he heard a murmur. We went today and he had a chest x-ray and ekg. I let daddy go in with those. It's weird because I can handle watching him get shots but this stuff is freaking me out a little.

Next week we go back down for the clinic and hopefully get some feedback and then we have an appointment with his dr. again the week after. I know it's probably nothing big...Kevin and his dad have a sloppy valve and it's hereditary...but, it gets to you every once in awhile. It's one of those continual surrender things.

I'll be praying that it is really no biggy. My sister and mom have murmers too.

It's nice that Kev got up with you. That goes a long way toward marital bliss...or at this stage in your life...marital survival : )

I was thinking the other day about Vin at that age. He was very fussy too. I found that especially at the "arsenic hour" around 5, some infant massage really helped him. Something about the strong contact really helped him to settle down and sleep better....not perfect, of course, because he still doesn't sleep...but at least now he knows that I get really grouchy when he wakes me : )
